Emergency Contraception
Emergency contraception is a safe, effective and responsible method of preventing pregnancy when regular contraception has failed or if no contraception was used.
It is available in-store at the pharmacy without the need for a doctor’s prescription following a consultation with one of our pharmacists.
When should I take emergency contraception?
- If you have had unprotected sex in the last five days
- If your normal method of contraception has failed
- If you have not taken your contraceptive pill for two days before having sex
You don’t need to make an appointment to avail of this service, just pop into the pharmacy and ask to speak to the pharmacist.
Medical card holders can avail of this service free of charge .
